These are great little appetizers and party snacks. Salad in a bite-sized cup!
- 24 Wonton Wrappers
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 head Romaine Lettuce
- Caesar Dressing
- 1/2 cup Parmesan
- Fresh-cracked Pepper
Here’s what I did:
Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Melt the butter and stir in the garlic powder. Brush each thawed wonton wrapper with the garlic powder-butter mixture.
Using a mini-muffin tin, press the wonton wrappers into each cup to form a vessel for the salad. Bake the empty wonton wrappers for about 6-8 minutes, until golden. Let cool completely.
Finely chop one head of romaine lettuce. Add the parmesan to the lettuce and mix in caesar dressing to taste. Check out my light caesar dressing, here.
Add spoonfuls of the caesar salad into each wonton cup. Top with more cheese if desired and fresh-cracked pepper. Serve these bite-sized appetizers and watch them disappear.
A few notes, FYI:
Save any leftover wonton wrappers for your next appetizer creation. You can bake them into cups using olive oil instead of garlic-butter so they are ready for any number of dishes – ceviche, buffalo chicken dip and spinach & artichoke dip are a few of my favorites.
